Every urn features a fluted, gadrooned body with a scalloped rim, while the pedestals are decorated on each face with a raised floral swag and ribbon motif flanked by scrolling finials, all cast in fine relief.

Decades of outdoor exposure have given both pieces a deep, rich rust patina throughout, with darker oxidation pooling in the recesses of the relief work--the kind of aged surface that cannot be replicated and is highly sought after by collectors of antique garden ornament. Sold as a pair, they make a striking matched statement flanking an entryway, staircase, or garden path, and function equally well as working planters; shown here filled with lush ferns.

Country of Origin: England
Estimated Date: 19th Century
Material: Cast iron
Dimensions: Urn - 31" H × 20" diameter edge to edge (15" diameter inner); Pedestal - 15½" × 15½" × 14" H; Total height 45"

Condition
Genuine antique condition, consistent with many years of outdoor display. Cast in two parts--urn and pedestal--and finished with decorative relief work, these pieces were built for permanence outdoors. Unlike reproduction iron, genuine antique examples develop a deep, uneven rust patina that can only occur through decades of true weather exposure, making each piece entirely unique.

Why We Collected It
We were drawn to this pair for their scale, their crisp relief detailing, and above all their surface--a rich, weathered patina that no amount of artificial aging can imitate. Sold together as a true matched pair, they carry an architectural presence that instantly elevates whatever they flank, whether planted with greenery or left bare to stand as sculptural ornament in their own right.

Styling Inspiration
Place this pair to flank a front entrance, frame the base of a staircase, or mark the start of a garden path for an instant sense of formality and symmetry. Planted with ferns, boxwood, or trailing ivy, they bring lush texture to a porch or terrace; left empty, they read as sculptural garden antiques. Underplant with seasonal blooms to refresh their look throughout the year.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0694/5528/2224/files/Antique_English_Cast_Iron_Planter_Urn_and_Pedestal.jpg?v=1789595154
https://www.tisburyhouse.com/products/pair-of-antique-english-cast-iron-garden-urns-on-pedestals-19th-century-campana-style
