Aphrodite Wall Planter in Patina Vintage Stone, Handmade in England

Aphrodite Wall Planter in Patina Vintage Stone, Handmade in England

A graceful and timeless piece for garden or home, this heavy stone wall planter features Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, rendered in classical style. Handmade in England from locally sourced English country stone, it's finished in a soft patina vintage stone tone that gives it the look of a piece that's weathered gently in an old English garden for years.

Look closely and you'll see tiny flecks of shiny quartz throughout the stone, catching the light as the sun moves across it, a natural detail that makes each piece subtly unique. Solid and substantial, it's made to be planted, mounted, and enjoyed season after season.

Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.

Collected Notes
Classical figures have graced English gardens for centuries, inspired by the statuary of ancient Greece and Rome and made fashionable by the grand country estates of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Aphrodite, known to the Romans as Venus, was among the most beloved subjects, a symbol of love, beauty, and abundance that felt especially at home among flowers and greenery. Wall planters like this one bring that same classical spirit to smaller gardens, courtyards, and patios.

Why We Collected It
We love the way this planter captures the romance of a classic English garden. The soft, aged finish and the glimmer of quartz in the stone give it a warmth and depth that feels far older than it is, and it's made by English craftspeople using stone from the English countryside.

Tisbury House Styling Notes
Mount this planter on a garden wall, fence, or beside a front door and fill it with trailing ivy, ferns, or seasonal flowers that spill softly over the edge. It also looks lovely on a brick wall in a courtyard or on a sunroom or conservatory wall, and pairs beautifully with stone troughs, terracotta pots, and other classical garden ornaments for a layered, old-world look.
